À propos

À propos de Church Choir

Choral ministry has been an integral part of The Methodist Church Ghana since the arrival of the early Methodist missionaries, who introduced hymn singing using the Bible, Methodist Hymn Book, and Liturgy. As mission schools expanded, choirs emerged throughout the country, with the Wesley Church Choir of Cape Coast serving as the model for many Methodist choirs.

The Wesley Church Choir, Cape Coast, is regarded as the premier choir of the Methodist Church Ghana. For generations it established high standards of sacred music, worship, and musical excellence through the dedication of distinguished choirmasters, organists, composers, and educators who shaped Methodist choral tradition across the nation.

In 1975, Methodist choirs across Ghana were united under the Association of Ghana Methodist Church Choirs (GHAMECC). The Association promotes fellowship, musical excellence, discipline, Christian witness, and the advancement of sacred music throughout the Connexion while equipping choristers to serve as ambassadors of Christ through song.
